The clinic describes some outstanding scenic features of the line that are well worth modeling, and suggests S scale rolling stock, both scale and hi-rail, to get the modeler started on their journey. With articulated steam, unique diesels, interesting run-through power including the famed Nickel Plate Berkshires, mixed freight, coal drags, passenger service, a mix of industrial, rural, and mountainous terrain, and connections with an amazing number of other railroads, the P&WV is a modeler\u2019s paradise!<\/h3>\n

1 PM<\/strong>\u00a0 Model Railroad Photography made (semi) easy – Presenter: Bob Leverknight<\/h3>\n

Presentation on basic techniques for model and layout photos and documenting projects for magazine publication.<\/h3>\n

3 PM<\/strong>\u00a0 A.C. Gilbert, American Flyer and the Connecticut Connection: Presenter: Roger Schneider<\/h3>\n

Toymaker Alfred Carlton Gilbert acquired the rights to the \u201cAmerican Flyer\u201d toy train line from W. O. Coleman in 1938 and moved their production from Chicago to New Haven, Connecticut. With the introduction of the post-war American Flyer line, the Connecticut connection blossomed with engines, rolling stock and accessories having Connecticut- related names. This clinic will investigate that connection.<\/h3>\n

4:30 PM<\/strong> The Builders Roundhouse –\u00a0 Presenter: John Mann<\/h3>\n

A builders meeting, continued from the previous three \u2018S\u2019 Fests. Bring models that you’re working on — under construction, completed, questions on current projects, discussions on modeling techniques etc. This is open to anyone who wants to see and talk about model building.<\/h3>\n

9:30 AM<\/strong> Painting – It can be your friend – Presenter: Bob Leverknight<\/h3>\n

Painting your models touching on: brass, plastic, wood, classic AF restoration or modification — some suggestions on weathering techniques too.<\/h3>\n

11:30 AM<\/strong> American Flyer and DCC – Presenter: Chris Eddy<\/h3>\n

Chris has converted an AF 4-6-2 312 (PRR K5s) to DCC operation with sound. He will show you the result and describe how he did it.<\/h3>\n

1:00 PM<\/strong> Gilbert American Flyer “O” to “S’ transition – Presenter Chuck Fonda<\/h3>\n

Chuck will talk about how Gilbert converted the model line from “O” gauge to “S” and added HO models to the line.<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n
